Intermodal transport
PCC Intermodal S.A, Gdynia, is one of Poland's market leaders in intermodal freight transport. In so-called intermodal transports of containerized goods, more than one means of transport is involved. For example, direct deliveries to the client's door are carried out locally by truck.PCC Intermodal already operates about 30 rail connections per week, which are served by scheduled all-container trains. In 2010 the company moved more than 71,000 containers – and volumes keep rising. On September 30, 2011, it launched the new intermodal transport terminal in Kutno, one of Poland's most modern transhipment and logistics centres.
The route network was continuously expanded in recent years. Today, PCC Intermodal S.A. offers connections from inland terminals in Poland to seaports in Poland, Germany, and the Netherlands. The latest connection is from the new terminal in Kutno (central Poland) to Moscow, added at the beginning of December 2011.
