Your practice partner – PCC Thorion GmbH:

PCC Thorion GmbH is part of the globally active PCC Group with a total of around 3,400 employees. The PCC Group under the umbrella of the investment holding company PCC SE, headquartered in Duisburg, has core competencies particularly in the production of chemical raw materials and specialty chemicals. At the Freiburg location, PCC Thorion GmbH is developing new silicon-based battery materials in cooperation with Fraunhofer ISE and ALU Freiburg. For the ongoing development and the scale-up, we are looking for a highly committed master’s student with a wide range of interests to join our team at the Haid-Haus location in Freiburg as a student assistant for up to 20 hours a week. Working hours can be agreed individually.

What tasks await you:
  • Participate in the planning and execution of experiments for process and material development
  • Data preparation, analysis, and statistical evaluation of measurement results
  • Analysis of the most important influencing variables and determination of characteristic values
  • Creation of basic models for process development and scaling
  • Further development of standards and templates within the framework of technical quality management
  • Support in the field of innovation management, e. g. by carrying out and preparing patent research.
Requirements are:
  • Technical or scientific studies, e. g. process engineering, chemistry
  • High degree of initiative and independent working skills
  • Ability to work in a team and interest in interdisciplinary project work
  • Motivation to take over responsible tasks in a dynamic company
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office
  • Initial experience in experimental design (e. g. Design of Experiment)
