Duisburg, March 16, 2020. The PCC Group decided last week on extensive preventive measures in response to the current coronavirus pandemic. The aim is to minimize the risk of infection for employees in the workplace while at the same time ensuring business operations continue, including production and the upstream supplies this requires.
Manufacturing output at the PCC sites in Poland is currently running at a high level, and in the case of chemical feedstocks used in the manufacture of detergents and disinfectants, our capacity limits have already been reached. There is also strong demand for items such as antibacterial soaps and disinfectant hand cleansers manufactured by units managed under PCC’s Consumer Products segment. Only in the Intermodal Transport business has there been a recent decline in incoming orders, partly due to interrupted supply chains from Asia.
