Duisburg/Gdynia (Poland), February 19, 2021. PCC Intermodal S.A., a leading operator of intermodal transport in Poland and Eastern Europe, is expanding its container transport connections with new wagons. The largest logistics company of the PCC Group is currently putting 20 new 90-foot wagons into operation and is expected to receive the next part of the order later this year. Overall, PCC Intermodal S.A.’s wagon fleet, which currently comprises more than 700 flat wagons, is being expanded by 150 container platforms. With the first batch of new wagons that has now been put into operation, PCC Intermodal S.A. was able to increase the frequency of their connections between Poland and Belgium from three to five container block trains per week. The acquisition of the wagons is supported by the EU as part of ‘Infrastructure and Environment” Operational Programme. PCC Intermodal currently operates more than 5000 intermodal train connections per year between the ports of Gdańsk, Gdynia, Hamburg, Rotterdam, and Antwerp, its own combined transport terminals in Poland and Germany as well as terminals in Duisburg and Brest on the Belarusian-Polish border.
