Duisburg/Húsavík (Iceland), November 2019. The new silicon metal production plant of our Group company PCC BakkiSilicon hf. in Iceland has commenced regular operations. The plant constructor officially handed over the keys with the signing of the Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC) on October 30, 2019. The plant has an annual capacity of 32,000 metric tons and is one of the most modern and environmentally compatible of its kind in the world. It is exclusively powered from renewable sources, with particular emphasis on geothermal energy.
